1/13/13 MY DECISION 1

Joshua 24:15…..Choose for yourselves this
day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were
on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you
dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord……

When Joshua
was about to departed, after he has allotted the land to the children of
Israel; he gave them a choice to make. We have every right to make a decision
for ourselves; God created you, human being, in the likeness of His own image;
so that you can take decision for yourself. Unfortunately indecision is killing
many people; many people live their lives without having decisions of their own
life. An adage says “procrastination is a thief of time.” Some people will not make a decision; every time,
they keep on postponing things. Good things that the Lord wants them to do,
they will not do it. This morning God wants you to make a decision.

When we talk
about salvation, salvation is personal. I cannot take decision for my wife or
son. Salvation is your personal relationship with God;
you have to take decision for yourself. Joshua said “as for me and my house, we
will serve the Lord; he said ‘choose for yourself whom you are going to serve
today; either the gods on the other side of the river; that your father
served.’” They served other gods and they died; those who served Baal in the
wilderness, the Lord destroyed every one of them. It was only Joshua and Caleb
that entered into the Promised Land; so their fathers served those gods and
they died.  Choose for yourselves whom
you are going to serve; today you have to make a decision of your life. You
cannot take decision for anybody and do not allow anyone to make a decision for
you.

One of the
problems that happen in the family is indecision. There are some people they do
not make a decision at all. Some people have altered their decision, based on
what people tell them because they are been manipulated. Some, husband and wife
will make a decision; the father or mother-in-law might call, and change the
decision. Some people alter their decision based on fear, on what they have
seen or heard. When God says “this is what I want you to do”; and you are
changing your decision. The children of Israel in the book of Numbers
14:4…..Let us select a leader and return to Egypt. They made a decision to
leave Egypt and they want to return back to Egypt, that is the way some people
are doing things; but today you will make the right decision in the name of
Jesus Christ…..

This year is
a year to make a decision. The decision to worship God; to serve the Lord; to
move forward; decision to go ahead of your enemies;  and the decision to terminate all the plans
of your enemies; decision not to agree with what the enemy is bringing to your
family; praise the name of the Lord. We are making a decision to fight anyone
that fights us; decision to fight this year. You have to make a decision, some
people are hindering your progress, some are standing  upon your glory; some people are even sitting
on your glory; today, they will be unseated in the name of Jesus; the fire of
God will unseat them in  the name of
Jesus Christ…….

God is ready
to fight; but you have to decide and be ready. Every weapon and everything that
is needed is available, but you are not using it. It is because you are not
using it, that is why you keep crying. God has not created you to be crying or
mourning; God has not created you to be weeping. Weeping may endure for a
night, but joy comes in the morning; when is your own morning that the joy will
come and I can see that this is the morning the Lord wants to bring your joy.
God wants you to make a decision not be in sorrow anymore; decision to be in
joy and God will give you joy in the name of Jesus.

What Indecision Causes In Our Lives.

1.
It delays our victory: Judges 20:18-25…..When the Children
of Israel were to fight the Benjamin, they asked God; who will go first; and
the Lord told them Judah first. Do you know they did not consider Judah; they
all went to the battle. The bible said that the first day; the children of
Benjamin killed twenty-two thousand men of the Israelites. That is indecision;
instead of getting victory, they did not get it on time. The second day, in verse
24, they killed eighteen thousand; making a total of forty thousand men of
Israel, that fell in two days. God said “Judah first”, but they said “Judah was
small lets go to Gibeah.” Because they were not able to make decision on time;
before they could get their victory, they were defeated three times. Indecision
can delay our victory; this is your year of victory.

2.
It delays our blessings: this is because when the victory is
delayed, blessing also will be delayed. In the record of God; He first gives
you victory before He gives you blessing. The reason is because He does not
want to give you blessings that the enemies will overpower again and take away
from your life. Joshua 18:3….Joshua said to the children of Israel “how long
will you neglect to go and possess the land which the Lord God of your fathers
has given you?” God has already given it to them, but they were unable to get
it because of indecision, they were delayed. This is what is happening to some
people; God has made some people business tycoon but you are still doubting
saying “how can I do it, I do not have the money.”

3.
It hinders our progress for
the next level
: When
we have to go to the next level because we are unable to decide, our progress
is hindered. Some people have been speaking about the next level for the past
twenty years, no next level; some for the past ten year and it is still the
same; is God lying? Has God become a liar? He is not a liar God has started His
work; He has done everything, but we are not yet decided either to go for it or
not. Deuteronomy 2:2-3…..You have skirted this mountain long enough; turn
northward. Go northward means to the next level. You have been on this mountain
everything is the same; you are getting manna every day; God said there is
something better than manna. Joshua 5:9-13….The Lord said to Joshua “today, I
rolled away the reproach of Egypt from you” He rolled away their reproach when
they got to Gilgal and the bible made us understand that the children of Israel
ate the produce of the land that year and manna ceased. They were sufficient
for themselves reason because they made a decision to go. Joshua said “prepare
yourself for tomorrow, we  will cross
this Jordan.” You will cross every Jordan of your life in the name of Jesus.

4.
It steals our joy and
testimony:
When
David was to meet Goliath; he determined that he will meet him. It was possible
for any other person to have gone before him, and destroy Goliath; because God
was in Israel.   But every other person
was scared, 1 Samuel 17:32……Let no man’s heart fail because of him; your
servant will go and fight with this uncircumcised Philistine….. He was ready.
Samuel 17:45-47……You come to me with sword, spear and with javelin. But I have
come to you in the name of the Lord of host, the God of the armies of Israel,
whom you have defied…… The battle of your life is the Lords; God is the one
that is going to fight the battle of your life. You have to make up your mind
that this is your year, and this is your year. Do not allow the devil to steal
your testimonies, praise the Lord…….

5.
It keeps us out of the race
of the overcomers
: We
are the overcomers, all the overcomers have the race to take; but indecision
takes us out of the race.  Revelations
12:11…..They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their
testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death…… They do not care if
they were going to die in the battle, because God is with them. Revelations
12:7……War broke out in heaven; Michael and his angels  fought with the dragon; and the dragon and
his angels fought, but they did not prevail……Satan will not prevail over your
life in the name of Jesus; you shall be an overcomer in the name of Jesus……..

6.
It brings a word of regret:  It makes people who cannot decide to regret.
Genesis 19:26….The wife of Lot look back behind him, and she became a pillar of
salt. I belief when she got to hell that is when she said “why did I do it? Why
did I look back?” You have to make up your mind this is your year of favor. The
Lord said “this is a year of testimonies”; if it is a year of testimonies,
miracles of God will happen. It means that blessings of God will take place; so
receive your blessings in Jesus name. You are going to testify; to the
awesomeness of God; it is going to be a year of testimonies for you in the name
of Jesus……. Praise the Lord…….

7.
It can lead one to hell: Luke 16:19-24….. You will read
about the story of Lazarus and the rich man, who had the opportunity to accept
God; but he did not accept Jesus Christ. When he died, he went to hell. Luke
16:24….Then he cried and said, ‘Father Abraham have mercy on me and send
Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his fingers in water and cool my tongue ……
He had every right to make a decision; but he did not make it; and because he
did not make a decision; he ended in hell. Today is the time to make a decision
with Jesus Christ. Some people do not make decisions and that is why problems
happen. Everything has its own sacrifice, but regret does not have
sacrifice.  Had I known will never be
your word in the mighty name of Jesus……

Decisions to Make This Year:

1.
To work with God: Your decision this year is to work
with God; you have worked with men; and different kinds of people in the
society, but what have we gotten from them? This is the year to work with God;
you will work with God in the name of Jesus. Enoch worked with God; Genesis
5:24……Enoch worked with God; and he was not, for God took him. Hebrew
11:5-6…..By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, before he
was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God…..Verse 6…..For without
faith no one can please God, for he who comes to God must believe that He is,
and that He is the rewarder……..Enoch made a decision to work with God; this
year, you will work with God. When you work with God, you will see that there
are some things that will affect people that will not affect you. Destruction
will never touch you. When God determined to destroy the whole world, somebody
please God; somebody had the grace. Genesis 6:8…..But Noah found grace before
God. He was a good man who worked with God and he made a decision. Genesis 6:22…Thus
Noah did according to what God commanded him, so he did. He did everything God
commanded him; he made a decision to work with God. What of Abraham; he was the
father of faith. Genesis 12:4….So Abram departed as the Lord had spoken to him.
God said “get out of your family’s house”; if God tells you to get out; it will
take you long, because you want to arrange things. But immediately Abraham left
and he became the friend of God; he did not regret; we will work with God this
year. David worked with God; Psalm 89:20&28…..I have found My servant
David; with My holy oil I have anointed him. In verse 28….My mercy I will keep
for him forever, and My covenant I will not break. God will keep His mercy with
you in the name of Jesus Christ…..

How to Work With God:

1.
By receiving His word: Nobody has ever seen God before,
and nobody will see Him until we get to heaven. God is in His word; the word of
God is God Himself. Psalm 89: 34……My covenant I will not break, nor alter the
word that has gone out of My lips. Numbers 23:19….. God is not a man, that He
should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will not
do………….? God is in His word; Jeremiah 1:12….For I am ready to perform my word.
God is in His word; Matthew 24:34-35…..Assuredly I say to you, this
generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. Heaven
and earth will pass away, but My words shall never pass way. So if we want to
work with God; we have to receive His words. Acts 2:41…….Those who gladly received
His word were baptized and three thousand men were added to the congregation.
Because they received the word of God; you have to receive the word of God and
this is the year to do it. The apostles were so happy in Acts 8:14-15…….When
they heard that the people of Samaria have received the word of God; they sent
peter and John to lay hands on them so that they will receive the Holy
Spirit.  Acts 8:8…..And there was great
joy in that city. Many times we say there is no joy in our lives it is because
the word of God is not in our life.  If
the word comes to your life; you will feel happy and well; you may not have
money, but the joy of the Lord will come upon you; because the joy of the Lord
is your strength. When we receive the word of God, everything that is in the
word, the joy, victory, blessing, peace, purpose, and the glory that is in the
word; comes upon us; because we have received the word of God. Receive the word
of God this hour; you will not reject His word, but you will receive His word
in the name of Jesus…… We have to receive the word of God; many people do not
want to receive the word of God; but we must receive the word of God. John
8:47……For whoever is of God hears God’s words; therefore you do not hear
because you are not of God. To receive the word of God is to hear it.

2.
Receive
and belief the word of God

3.
Accept
Him totally

4.
Obey
the word of God

5.
Meditate
in His word

6.
Keeping
His word without fear

To be continued……..

Remain Blessed in the Lord
