BIBLE READING: Luke 8: 1-3
“Now it came to pass, afterward, that He went through every city and village, preaching and bringing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God. And the twelve were with Him. And a certain woman who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities – Mary called Magdalene, out of whom had come out seven demons, and Joanna the wife of Chuza, Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and many others who provided for Him from their substance.”
You must be a blessing. God ordained you for so many things- preaching , administration , charitable works, rulers, caring for children, peace makers, providing for people’s needs, praying for nations, praying for Shepherds, make things happen ( especially difficult situations), encouragement (Lifters) etc. God ordained you for different kinds of things which is summarized as “ I am a Blessing”. If you are praying for people, making solution, settling matters that have discrepancies, you are helping. Genesis 12: 1-2 says “ Now the Lord said to Abraham, get out of your country, from your family and from your father’s house to a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation, I will bless you and make your name great and you shall be a blessing.” The Lord told Abraham to get out from his father’s house and that He will make him a great nation and bless him. God will make you a blessing in Jesus Name. Amen. If you had a bad dream for somebody that accidentally died and you woke up and rebuked it so that the person will not get into that death trap, you are a blessing. When God blesses you and you don’t extent it t o other people, then you are not a blessing. Some people have labored so hard and death cut them short. On the other, people who did not labor at all will now reap the fruit of labor. You shall be a blessing in Jesus Name. Amen. You must be a blessing to your family, church, community, everyone around you. If God says you are a blessing, He has already made a provision for you in terms of money. Our Lord Jesus cast out demons from some women; He cast out seven demons from Mary Magdalene. Whatever God has ordained for you must come to pass. God ordained Mary Magdalene with the Holy Spirit to work in His kingdom but the devil inflicted her with evil spirits. She was supposed to have been cut off but the mercy of God kept her alive. Apostle Paul was noted to have persecuted the Christians but God still used him to save souls for His kingdom. God does not think the way we think and work. God justifies. God blesses. There are three things the devil and all his agents of darkness do not know about the children of God:
- What God ordained you for. If they knew about Christ Jesus, they would not have crucified Him. At the age of forty years, Moses fled the land of Egypt for murder. At Eighty, God still called him to deliver the Israelites from bondage.
- The enemies do not know about the power that makes it for you.
- Enemies can never overcome the power that makes it happen . Anywhere you go, pray to God that you want to be a blessing. Some people’s solution in life are in your hands. If you release blessing to people, God releases immeasurable blessing to you. I f you advise people going through stress, you have lifted them up. You don’t have to be a Pastor before you preach salvation to people to gain the kingdom of God. You can be a blessing to people in different capacities. At the age of six, Miriam stood to guide Moses in the river. Exodus 2:7 says “ Then his sister said to Pharaoh’s daughter, shall I go and call a nurse for you from the Hebrew women that she may nurse the child for you.? God put His wisdom in Miriam to call Moses mother to nurse Moses for the princess. Therefore, Miriam was a blessing to Moses who in turn became a blessing to Israelites. Nobody can destroy what God has established. Moses was brought up in Pharaoh’s palace to prepare him to liberate the Israelites from captivity. When King Ahaseurus married queen Esther, he did not ask where the woman came from. Your destiny can never be changed and all the plans of your enemies against you can never succeed. Your enemies can try to kill you, they can try to threaten you but they will not succeed because you are a child of God. Numbers 23:23 says “ For there is no sorcery against Jacob, nor any divination against Israel; It now must be said of Jacob and Israel, Oh, what God has done.” “ Romans 8:31 says “ What the shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? If you are helping people today, you do not know what will happen tomorrow. If you are a President of your country or a state Governor, what are you going to offer to your people? Luke 19:8 “ Then Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, look Lord, I give half of my goods to the poor and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I return fourfold.” God wants you to be a blessing to people. God made you to be what you are today. Where you are today, God made it so. Our Lord Jesus Christ countered the demons in Mary Magdalene so as to enable her work for God. She was the first person to see Christ resurrected. God can raise millionaires from the church to bless the church. You are a blessing in Jesus Name. Amen. Zacchaeus said I give all what I have to the people.. God wants you to help the poor. You must make peace if you offend each other. No power of darkness shall destroy you in Jesus Name. Amen. Joseph of Arimathea constructed the tomb where Jesus was buried. Mary Magdalene and Susana made provisions for our Lord Jesus Christ. Galatians 2:20 says ” I have been crucified with Christ: It is no longer I who live but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me.” When you are in the Lord, you don’t own your life again. Christ lives in you because you have been crucified , it is no longer your own body but the temple of the Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians 3:16 says “ Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you.? Supporting the verse is 1 Corinthians 6:19 that says “ Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you , whom you have from God and you are not your own? 1 Corinthians 3:11-15 says ‘ For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid which is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood , hay straw; each one’s work will become clear for the day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is. If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.” Whatever anybody built will be tested by fire. You have to pass through fire before you get to Heaven. You should try to comfort people who are distressed. Some people take delight in scattering marriages, Some people hurt other people’s feelings, Some people are rumor mongers in the church, Some people have attended well over 30 churches and they found no one good, thereby, contributing problem to the kingdom of God. You are the problem and not the church. You should examine yourself. Matthew 16:18 says “ And I also said to you that you are Peter and on this rock I will build My church and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.” God has not given the judgment of anybody upon you and so you don’t have to condemn anybody. If you want to be a blessing to people, there are things you have to take away from your life.
- PUT THE PAST BEHIND YOU: You have to put the past behind you if you want to be a blessing to any man or woman. Abraham made Lot. Lot went against Abraham . He chose the best vegetation. Abraham saved Lot when he was captured in Sodom and because of Abraham, Lot received salvation during the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. Joseph also forgave his brothers. Genesis 50:20 says “ But as for you, you meant evil against me but God meant it for good in order to bring it about as it is this day to save many people alive.” When people are working against you , they don’t know that they are pushing you to your place of destiny. Ecclesiastes 7:10 says ‘ Do not say why were the former days better than these? For you do not inquire wisely concerning this.” Proverbs 26:27 says “ Whoever digs a pit will fall into it and he who rolls a stone will have it roll back to him.” If enemies are cursing you, throwing stones at you, attacking you, they are digging their own grave. God can cut your life short if you are not a blessing to people. Enemies cannot get rid of you because you are in Christ . You have to forget the past if you want to be a blessing to people. If you don’t forgive people, God will not forgive you.
2. YOU MUST LOVE:
You must not be jealous or envious of people. Jesus loves us and lay down His life for us. 16:15 says “ All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore, I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.” You can deliver your neighbor’s children from dangers; You can make contribution to the church convention. Exodus 4:2 says ” So the Lord said to him; What is that in your hand? He said, a rod.” God said to Moses, you are carrying anointing in your hand. Again a woman countered the work of devil against eight houses in her neighborhood with anointing oil. She is a blessing to her neighbors.
3. YOU MUST HAVE THE SPIRIT OF GOD
The Spirit of God gives you life and helps you to do the right thing at the right time. Galatians 5:16 says “ I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.” In support of the verse 2 Corinthians 3:17 says ” Now the Lord is the Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is Liberty.” If the Spirit of God is with you, you must try to give people freedom anywhere you go. You must desire to be a blessing every hour, every day, every week, every month, every year. Jeremiah 1:19 says “ They will fight against you but they shall not prevail against you. For I am with you says the Lord to deliver you.” The Lord says your enemies shall not prevail against you. It is God that promotes people and if God blesses you with money to build a mansion, there is a reason. You should have the Spirit of compassion and give alms to beggars or reach out to those that needs help. Solomon blessed people. He sacrificed thousands of sheep, oxen for God and God gave him an open cheque. Since then, there is no king bigger than Solomon today. Jesus left His kingdom (Heavens) and became a blessing to us. You are not a curse; you are a blessing. God prepared Portiphah because of Joseph. Jacob was a blessing to the house of Laban. St. Luke , a physician followed Jesus and Apostle Paul. Anywhere you go, you are a blessing in Jesus Name. Amen. God will grant you the ability to excel, ability to fulfill your purpose, ability to continue, you will be a man/woman to put the past behind, you will be a man /woman that shows compassion. God will grant you a new record, no power will stand against you, nothing will cut your life short, you will be man/woman that is filled with the Spirit of God, you will do what God asked you to do in Jesus Name. Amen.
