TITLE OF MESSAGE: BEHOLD- THE PROMISED LAND
BIBLE READING:
Joshua 3:1-5
Then Joshua rose early in the morning and they set out from Acacia Grove and came to the Jordan , he and all the children of Israel and lodged there before they crossed over. So it was after three days that the officers went through the camp and they commanded the people saying “ When you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, and the priests, the Levites, bearing it then you shall set out from your place and go after it.
Yet there shall be a space between you and it about two thousand cubits by measure. Do not come near it that you may know the way by which you must go for you have not passed this way before. And Joshua said to the people, sanctify yourselves for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.”
1. God wants us to see the promised land. God said this year will be a year of wonders for you and He will make His word work in your lives. The children of Israel were in the wilderness for forty years and there was a barrier. Every iron gate in your life will be cut into pieces in Jesus Name. Amen.
God sees everything. Psalm 139:7 says “ Where can I go from your spirit or Where can I flee from your presence.” God is everywhere. God created you in His own image and made our body to function. Everything in God functions and you will function in Jesus Name. Amen. God sees from a different way we see. God wants you to see the promised land for the fulfillment of God’s promise in your life , your destiny, your aims and objectives, your ministry etc. He has not said and will not do. No mater your request, God will grant it in Jesus Name. Amen. The creator will deliver you from creatures. Upon Mount Zion, there shall be deliverance. You are the Zion of God. Exodus 7:1-2 says “ So the Lord said to Moses, see I have made you as God to Pharaoh and Aaron your brother shall be your prophet. You shall speak all that I command you. And Aaron your brother shall tell Pharaoh to send the children of Israel out of his land.” By getting to your promised land, your vision is fulfilled, God has labored for you to harvest, reproaches are removed., freedom from slavery is assured, God is your God. Psalm 89:34-35 says ” My covenant I will not break, nor alter the word that has gone out of My lips. Once I have sworn by My holiness , I will not lie to David.” God never lies. He is a faithful Father. Joshua 6: 1-3 says “ Now Jericho was securely shut up because of the children of Israel; none went out and none came in. And the Lord said to Joshua: see, I have given Jericho into your hand , its king and the mighty men of valor. You shall march around the city all you men of war ; you shall go around the city once. This you shall do six days.” God wants you to see victory, promotion, elevation etc. Everyone God uses in the Bible, He made them to see. God will complete what He has started in your life. After you have seen what God sees , then He will perfect His blessing and you will see greatness, peace, victory, a new beginning, a new level etc.
2. God gave you mouth to speak. Before you speak, He has already spoken. Genesis 1: 1-4 says “ In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void and wilderness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said, Let there be light and there was light. And God saw the light that it was good, and God divided the light from the darkness.” God wants you to speak and not to be dumb. God is God that speaks and He is still speaking today. God spoke to Abraham in Genesis 12:1, 1:7, 17:1. God spoke to Moses in Ex 3:10 , 7:1, 8:1, 9:1, 10:1, 11:1, 12:1, 13:1, 14:1. Today, you will declare the glory of God in Jesus Name, Amen.
3. God Works: John 5:17 says ´ But Jesus answered them,
“ My Father has been working until now and I have been working.” God is
still working. The Bible verse of Isaiah 59:19 says “ So shall they fear the
Name of the Lord from the west and His glory from the rising of the sun;
When the enemy comes like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a
standard against him.” God will work things for you in Jesus Name,
Amen.
4. God Thinks: His thoughts are not our thoughts. Isaiah 55:8
says “ For My thoughts are not your thoughts Nor are your ways My ways says
the Lord.” God is a good thinker.
GOING TO THE PROMISED LAND
1.
God wants you to terminate everything that is keeping away the glory of God
in your life. Romans 6:1 says “ What shall we say then? Shall we continue in
sin that grace may abound? Sin is anything you do that does not do God Almighty
proud and so you have to terminate it. The book of Leviticus 11:44-45 says “
For I am the Lord your God. You shall therefore consecrate yourselves and
you shall be holy for I am holy. Neither shall you defile yourselves with
any creeping thing that creeps on the earth. For I am the Lord who brings
you out of the land of Egypt to be your God. You shall therefore be holy
for I am holy.” God is a holy God. The bible verse of Matthew 5:48 says “
Therefore you shall be perfect just as your Father in heaven is perfect.”
Everything that is keeping back the glory of God in you must be terminated in
Jesus Name, Amen.
2. God wants you to terminate every spirit of
procrastination.
It is not good for you to be on a particular level on
your job for so long without elevation, You postpone what you are supposed to
do today for tomorrow or in future, putting aside academic advancement that
would have Skyrocketed you to an enviable position. Deuteronomy 1:6 says “ The
Lord our God spoke to us in Horeb saying you have dwelt long enough at
this
mountain.” Deuteronomy 2:2-3 says “ And the Lord spoke to me
saying “ You have skirted this mountain long enough; turn northward.” When God
approves your journey, your career, your marriage, your business, you will not
suffer. So you have to terminate everything that makes you to procrastinate. I
f this is your time, make use of it, start now, move in fast in Jesus Name,
Amen. Jacob sowed and reaped the same year. If you are on the same salary for
many years or standing against the mission of God, that means you have lost the
sight of God and you have to fight the devil. If God wants to do something for
you, you have to take action, get out of your comfort zone and move to the
next level.
3. God wants you to remove everything in you that is
taking the place of God.
The book of Luke 4:4 says “ But Jesus answered
him, saying, man shall not live by bread alone but by every word of God.” Do
not do it yourself, let God do it for you. God should be the first in
whatever thing you do ,that is, your job, your business, your career
etc.
4. God wants you to punish every sin in you that refuses to
change.
You have to fast and pray to punish every spirit of disobedience.
You must punish the spirit that makes you to get angry and jealous at
someone that works harder and earns higher than you because whatever you reap,
you shall sow. If you work hard, the blessings of God will make you
prosperous, Nations will come to you in Jesus Name, Amen. In the same token,
you have to punish your stomach while fasting because you are going
somewhere.
5. God wants you to disappoint the spirit of
discouragement.
The book of Numbers 13:31-33 says “ Then Caleb quieted the
people before Moses and said let us go up at once and take possession for we
are well able to overcome it. But the men who had gone up with him said we are
not able to go up against the people for they are much stronger than we.
And they gave the children of Israel a bad report of the land which they had
spied out, saying, the land through which we have gone as spies is a land
that devours its inhabitants and all the people whom we saw in it are men of
great stature. There we saw the giants ( the descendants of Anak ) and we
were like grasshoppers in our own sight and so we were in their
sight.”
Caleb encouraged the Israelites to take possession of the land
of Jericho. Where color will not take you to a higher pedestal , break the
record. Therefore, every spirit of discouragement is terminated in your life in
Jesus Name, Amen.
