7/7/2013 A REFLECTION
OF GOD’S GLORY……Part 2
 Acts 5:12-16
To Carry the Glory of God
God wants us to be a reflection of
His glory; the glory of God is God Himself. When the Lord lifts His countenance
upon you; when He lifts His glory upon you, you become Christ incarnate. When
you ask for the glory of God, you ask for God Himself The word of God made us
understand that when Moses ask for the glory of God, God knew he was asking for
Him because in Exodus 33: 18-23…. And he said, “Please, show me Your
glory.” 19 Then He said, “I will make
all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the
Lord before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.”
20 But He said, “You cannot see My face; for no man shall see Me,
and live. This means that when he was asked for the glory of God, he was asking
for the face of God. 21 And the Lord said, “Here is a place by Me,
and you shall stand on the rock. 22 So it shall be, while My glory passes by, that I will put you in the
cleft of the rock, and will cover you with My hand while I pass by. 23
Then I will take away My hand, and you shall see My back; but My face shall not
be seen.” When Moses saw the back of God it was so wonderful, the bible made us
understand that his countenance changed, and his face shone Exodus 34:29….
Now it was so, when Moses came
down from Mount Sinai (and the two tablets of the Testimony were in Moses’ hand
when he came down from the mountain), that Moses did not know that the skin of
his face shone while he talked with Him.30 So when Aaron and all the children of
Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone, and they were afraid to
come near him.
If you become the reflection of His
glory, you will be like God. Psalm 82:6….. I said, “You are gods, And all of you are children of the
Most High. That is the will of Go for you; God wants you to be like Him. Romans
8:29….. For whom He
foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He
might be the firstborn among many brethren. God wants us to conform into the
image of Jesus Christ; that was why it was so difficult for the Jews to get rid
of Jesus Christ, until the appointed time. If Jesus Christ did not want to
release  Himself to death, no death can
take Him away; no power can take Him away because He is God’s representative on
earth; He Himself is God. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with
God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. Jesus is God; God
wants us to be a reflection of His glory; to be like His son.
1.
We have to have
the knowledge of God
; because if we do not have His knowledge, how do we want to be like God.
2. You must have the fear of God:
Proverbs 1:7….The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge,
but fools despise wisdom and instruction. When you have the knowledge of the
Almighty, then you will be able to do the right thing. Ecclesiastes 12:13…. Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God
and keep His commandments, For this is man’s all. We need to have the
fear of God in our lives; when we have the fear of God in our lives, we will
not go against others; we will not backbite; we will not be thinking of killing
others. Those who destroy and kill do not have the fear of God; when you do not
fear God, you cannot achieve anything. You cannot be God’s representative if
you do not have the fear of God; the fear of God is the fountain of life. Whoever
wants to live must fear God.
3. You must obey the voice of God:  When Samuel was speaking to Saul, in 1 Samuel 15:22… So Samuel said: “Has the Lord as
great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, As in obeying the voice of the
Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And
to heed than the fat of rams. Many times we do a lot of sacrifices that the
Lord has not requested for. Why; because we do not obey the voice of God.  Psalm 62:11….. God has spoken once, twice I have heard
this: That power belongs
to God. Everyone who possesses the spirit of obedience must hear God. When we
do not obey His voice, then we cannot do anything. Roman 6:1…. What shall we say then?
Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? The bible has clearly said, in Psalm 24:3-4… Who may ascend into the
hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in His holy place? 4 He who has clean hands
and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, Nor sworn
deceitfully. Everyone wants to stand in the holy place of God; but how can we
stand in the holy place of God if we do not obey His voice? Obey the voice of the
Lord. When the Lord called Moses, He gave him the Ten Commandments, the first
commandment says; in Exodus 20:1-3….. And God spoke all these words, saying: 2 “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of
Egypt, out of the house of bondage. 3 “You shall have no other
gods before Me. whatever
you rate above God is your god; when you obey the voice of God, you get the
result of obedience. The result of obedience is peace, joy, and blessing. When
we obey the voice of God, the bible in Genesis 15:6…. And
he believed in the Lord, and He accounted it to him for righteousness.
Galatians 3:6-7….. Just as Abraham “believed God, and it was accounted to him for
righteousness.” 7 Therefore know that only those who are of faith
are sons of Abraham.
There is no way you can become the child of God if you do not obey Him; God
wants you to obey Him.
4. You must be filled with the Holy Spirit:
We must be filled with the spirit of the Lord; you really need the spirit of
God in your life. Everyone who wants the spirit of God in him/her must
surrender; it is when you get rid of yourself that the spirit of God will fill
you.   Job 29:6… When my steps were bathed with cream And the rock poured out rivers
of oil for me!  Rivers of oil will never come until you are bathe,
and you cannot bathe with cream if you are not being washed. Nobody wakes up in
the morning and put cream without first washing himself/herself. We must be
washed and cleansed. Psalm 130:3…… If You, Lord, should mark
iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? God has a purpose for your life, He wants you to fulfill
it, but He wants you to have the spirit. Job 33:4… The Spirit of God has made
me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life. You cannot do anything without the spirit of God.
John 4:23-24….. But the hour is coming, and
now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth;
for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24 God is Spirit, and
those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” God is spirit; for Mary to carry
Jesus Christ, she must be filled with the Holy Spirit. Luke 1:35….. And the
angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will
come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you;
therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.
Jesus Christ was moved by power of the Holy Spirit in Luke 4:1; 18-20…..
Then Jesus, being filled with
the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the
wilderness, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because
He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the
brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the
blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; 19 To proclaim the
acceptable year of the Lord.” 20 Then He closed the book, and
gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all who were in the
synagogue were fixed on Him. Jesus Christ came to deliver us; and you are
delivered today in the name of Jesus Christ….. There is nothing we can do
without the spirit of God; let the spirit of God come upon us so that we can
become God’s representatives on earth. If you are a reflection of His glory,
you will not be complaining about money because God never lacks; and those who
seek God shall not lack. Psalm 34:10…. The young lions lack and suffer hunger; But those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.
As a representative of God’s glory, you will be blessed above every other
person; may God single you out today, in the name of Jesus Christ…. When the
disciples were asking Jesus Christ, when will the kingdom be restored back to
Israel, He made them to understand, in Acts 1:4-8…. And being assembled together with
them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the
Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; 5
for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy
Spirit not many days from now.” 6 Therefore, when they had come
together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the
kingdom to Israel?” 7 And He said to them, “It
is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own
authority. 8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit
has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all
Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” When you do not have the power
of God, how can you be a reflection of the glory of God? You cannot receive the
power until the spirit of God comes upon you; be filled with the Holy Spirit
today; in the name of Jesus….. Jesus recognized and acknowledged the Holy
Spirit in His ministry; and everybody must acknowledge the spirit of God. When
the Spirit of God comes upon you, all the spirit of tale bearing and backbiting
will be flushed out. When you have the spirit of God, you remain untouchable;
no power or principalities can be able to stand against you because you possess
the spirit of God.  John 14:16, 26….. And
I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide
with you forever— 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the
Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your
remembrance all things that I said to you. John 15:26…. “But when the Helper comes, whom I
shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the
Father, He will testify of Me. 1 John 2:26-27…..These things I have written to
you concerning those who try to deceive you. 27 But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in
you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same
anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and
just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him. The anointing of the Holy
Spirit is the one that teaches; when the spirit of the Lord comes upon you, you
do not need to plan what to say because God will be your mouth.  Matthew 10:19-20…… But when they deliver you up, do not worry about how or what you should speak. For it will
be given to you in that hour what you should speak; 20 for it is not
you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you. When you
possess the spirit of God, you possess the wisdom of God. When you possess the
spirit of God, you possess the power of God. You will become the reflection of God’s
glory today; in the name of Jesus Christ….
5 You must be committed to God:
There are some people you do not need to preach to, when they see the glory of
God in your life; they will come to you. When a man’s way pleases the Lord, He
makes even his enemies to be at peace with him. They have no choice because the
Lord Almighty will not allow enemies to destroy His own children. Matthew
16:13-18….. When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His
disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”14 So
they said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one
of the prophets.” 15 He said to them, “But
who do you say that I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered and said, “You
are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” 17 Jesus answered
and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not
revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. 18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I
will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.
May God build His church upon you; in the name of Jesus…. Peter was so
committed; he left everything and followed Jesus. You have to be committed to
God and not to man. Christians forget that man can disappoint and fail; several
people base their trust upon man; and when man fails you, you are rejected. Man
can fail and disappoint you, but God will never disappoint. God is accurate, He
is never too late; He is so perfect; Praise the Lord……  Matthew 26: 31-35…. Then Jesus said to them, “All of you
will be made to stumble because of Me this night, for it is written: ‘I will
strike the Shepherd, And the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’ 32
But after I have been raised, I will go before you to Galilee.” 33
Peter answered and said to Him, “Even if all are made to stumble because of
You, I will never be made to stumble.” 34 Jesus said to him,
“Assuredly, I say to you that this night, before the rooster crows, you will
deny Me three times.” 35 Peter said to Him, “Even if I have to die
with You, I will not deny You!” And so said all the disciples. He denied Christ
because there was no spirit in him; but when you talk about commitment, Peter
was so committed.  When everybody had
departed from Jesus Christ, during his arrest, Peter followed Him. Though he
denied Jesus Christ, but he followed Him. You have to become the reflection of
God’s glory; you have to become His representative on earth. When you possess
the spirit of commitment, when you are committed to God; God is committed to
you. While the enemies of Daniel were plotting against him, Daniel was busy
with his God.  Daniel 6:3….. Now when
Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room,
with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times
that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since
early days. He was saying “I am not going to petition a man but will petition
God” he was committed. Do not be committed to man, but be committed to God. In commitment to
God, you must pray
; God is happy when we pray to Him and ask for
things; because He knows that we do not have any other power. God is a jealous
God; Exodus 20:5…. you
shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the
Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the
children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me.
Deuteronomy 4:24….. For the Lord your God is a
consuming fire, a jealous God. God is a jealous God, He does not want
you to consult any other god or person; He wants you to consult Him. We are
committed to God when we put our request to Him through prayer. Acts 4:31….
And when they had
prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were
all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness. This is because they prayed, Acts
2:1… When the Day of
Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord
in one place. It was when they were praying that the Holy Spirit spoke concerning
Paul’s ministry. Acts 13:1-2…. Now in the church that was at Antioch there were certain prophets and
teachers: Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen who
had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. 2 As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit
said, “Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called
them.” We need to understand that prayer is the key; everybody should
set a time of prayer every day to God. God wants you to call upon Him; Jeremiah
33:3….. ‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great
and mighty things, which you do not know.’ Jeremiah 29:12-13….. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13
And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. Psalm
55:17….. Evening and
morning and at noon I will pray, and cry aloud, And He shall hear my voice. Psalm
50:15…. Call upon Me in
the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall
glorify Me.” God wants you to call unto Him because He has the power to do
everything in your life; He wants you to pray. When Jesus Christ started His
ministry, He started with prayer and ended with prayer. Matthew 4:1; 11….
Then Jesus was led up by the
Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 11 Then the devil left Him, and behold,
angels came and ministered to Him. Luke 1:13… Then Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit,
returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness. Mark
1:35….. Now in the
morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to
a solitary place; and there He prayed. Luke 6:12…. Now it came to pass in those days
that He went out to the mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to
God. Luke 9:28-29….. Now
it came to pass, about eight days after these sayings, that He took Peter,
John, and James and went up on the mountain to pray. 29 As He
prayed, the appearance of His face was altered, and His robe became white and
glistening Matthew 26:41… Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The
spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Jesus kept praying and He
delivered prayer unto us. Mark 9:29…. So He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing but
prayer and fasting. He thought us how to pray in Luke 11:1-4…. Now it came to
pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, that one of His
disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his
disciples.” 2 So He said to them, “When you pray, say: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your
kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. 3 Give
us day by day our daily bread. 4 And forgive us our sins, For we
also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the
evil one.” Jesus Christ
gave us the pattern of prayer; God answers prayer psalm 65:2…. O You who hear prayer, To
You all flesh will come.
God will never deny His word. Psalm 138:2…. I will worship toward Your holy temple, And praise Your name For
Your loving kindness and Your truth; For You have
magnified Your word above all Your name. He answers prayer; He is the
one that can make things happen in our lives. Psalm 121:1… I will lift up my
eyes to the hills– From whence comes my help? 2 My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and
earth. Psalm 91:1; 7-8….. He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the
shadow of the Almighty. 7 A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your
right hand; But it shall not come near you.
8 Only with your
eyes shall you look, And see the reward of the wicked. The Lord will not allow
the devil to touch you because God answers prayers.  He committed to God in your prayers; let us
pray so that we can destabilize the kingdom of darkness.  Be committed to God in prayer, worship, and
praise. Psalm 107:8, 15, 21, 31…  Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness,
And for His wonderful works to the children of men! It is good to praise the
Lord. Psalm 34:1….. I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
Whatever comes your way, praise the Lord. Psalm 9:1…. I will praise You, O Lord,
with my whole heart; I will tell of all Your marvelous works. Psalm 138:1…. I will praise You with my whole
heart; Before the gods I will sing praises to You. God wants you to praise Him.
Psalm 118:1… Oh, give
thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. Let us
praise Him in every area of our life. Psalm 146:1…. Praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord, O my soul! Psalm
147:1…. Praise
the Lord! For it is good
to sing praises to our God; For it is pleasant, and praise is beautiful. Psalm
148:1…. Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord from the heavens; Praise
Him in the heights! Psalm 149:1….. Praise the Lord! Sing to the Lord a new song, And His praise in the
assembly of saints. Psalm 150:1, 6.… Praise the Lord! Praise God in His sanctuary; Praise Him in His mighty
firmament! 6 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord! Let just praise
Him and the wall of Jericho shall fall down flat.
