THE HOLY SPIRIT
Acts
2:1-4…When the Day of Pentecost had fully come; they were all with one accord in
one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a
rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3
Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon
each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and
began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and
began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Acts 1:4-8…..And
being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from
Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have
heard from Me; 5 for John truly baptized with water, but you shall
be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” 6
Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You
at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” 7 And He said to them,
“It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own
authority. 8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has
come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea
and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” The message of today is titled THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. I want everybody
to understand that there are three groups of people that live on this earth;
people with the power of God; people with satanic power; and people who have no
power at all. For you to live and excel
on earth, you need power. Mark 9:19-29…. There was a boy with the spirit of
convulsion that was brought before the disciples of Jesus Christ. The disciples
prayed for the boy, but they could not cast out the demons that were in him.
This makes me to understand that it takes the power of God to cast out the
power of Satan. Mark 16:17….. And these signs will follow those who believe: In
My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues. Luke
10:19….. Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions,
and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. You need
power; there is something that is so important in our lives apart from our
salvation. Holy Spirit is the most important thing that everybody must desire
for; the spirit of the living God is what we must desire for. Jesus Christ said
“bring him to me”; and Jesus Christ healed the sick and cast out demons. The
disciples secretly called Jesus Christ in Mark 9:28….. And when He had come into the house,
His disciples asked Him privately, “Why could we not
cast it out?” 29 So He said to them, “This kind can come out
by nothing but prayer and fasting.” Jesus Christ said fasting and prayer, because
the spirit of the living God is already in them, but they do not stir it up. Some
of you have the power of God, but you are still looking for help from someone
who has the power; but you also, have the power. The reason why you are not
doing it is because you are not stirring up the power in you. Whenever anyone
comes to Jesus Christ, He gives him/her the spirit, because Jesus Christ is the
giver of the spirit. John 14:16; 26….. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another
Helper, that He may abide with you forever 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in
My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all
things that I said to you. John 15:26…. But when the Helper comes, whom I shall
send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father,
He will testify of Me. He is the giver of the spirit; He is the one that
empowers us; the main reason is because people have not stirred up the gift
that is in them. 2 Timothy 1:6….Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on
of my hands. One thing is to have the power, another thing is to use it;
some people have the power of God but they do not use it. The power of God is
not just in you; it is in you, for you to use it to the glory of God the
Father. God wants to glorify Himself in everything that you are doing. God is
not happy when you are crying, mourning or when you fail, because He is not a failure.
God is happy when you are celebrating, rejoicing, and testifying to His power. Psalm
118:17….. I shall not die, but live, and declare the
works of the Lord. Everything will come to an end, but the power of God
can never come to an end.

1 Samuel 3:1….
Now the boy Samuel ministered to the Lord before Eli. And the word of the Lord
was rare in those days; there was no widespread revelation. The word was rare
because the man who was to release the word was dead, while he is still alive.
Eli was still alive, but he is dead, so there was no vision; when there is no
vision people perish. A barber does not need the power of God to cut my hair
neither, does a pilot need the power of God to fly a plane; but I will not
agree for a man of God, that is my pastor; that is my shepherd; that is dead of
the spirit of God. When a man of God is
dead, his church is dead; a dead pastor shepherds a dead congregation. One thing I want you to understand, there is
no amount of prayer you can pray; fasting you can fast; that can make you to be
greater than your pastor in the power of God. We have to pray for our pastors,
because when we do not pray for them; it says “strike
the shepherd and the flocks shall be scattered.” When you pray for them, they will be more
empowered; that is the reason I cannot stay in a church that is dead. Holy Spirit
is God; the spirit of God Himself is God. Luke 1:35….. And the angel answered and said to
her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power
of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who
is to be born will be called the Son of God. The power of the Lord that
overshadowed Mary brought about Jesus Christ, and God is the only creator. If
the spirit of God is not in you, there is no way you can get it because it is
the spirit of God that makes things happen in our lives. When the spirit of God
was with Samson, he tore apart a young lion with his bare hands in Judges
14:5-6…. So Samson went down to Timnah with his father and mother, and came to
the vineyards of Timnah. Now to his surprise, a young lion came roaring against
him. 6 And the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon him, and he
tore the lion apart as one would have torn apart a young goat, though he had
nothing in his hand. But he did not tell his father or his mother what he had
done. There are some earthly lions that has been standing against you, what can
make you to overcome them is the spirit of God; you must be filled with the
spirit of God. Jesus made His disciples
to understand that there is nothing you can do without the spirit; the spirit
is the one that will make things happen; and it is the one that will empower
you, that will make you to do it. They could not cast out the demons, but when
the spirit came upon them in Acts 3:2; 4; 5-7…… And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was
carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called
Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered the temple; 3 who,
seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms. 4
And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, “Look at us.” 5
So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them. 6
Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but
what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and
walk.” 7 And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up,
and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. Peter could not do
it before because the power of God was not in him; it takes the power of God to
cancel, destroy and destabilize the power of Satan. Let every satanic power
surrounding you be scattered today; in the name of Jesus Christ…..

Some people
are empowered by God; some people are initiated by Satan; devil has no good
thing to offer anybody. 1 John 5:19….We know that we are of God, and the whole
world lies under the sway of the wicked one. Satan is the wicked spirit; he
scatters any place that he enters. Satan entered into the Garden of Eden and
destroyed the joy that was in it. Genesis 3:8….. And they heard the sound of the Lord God
walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of
the Lord God among the trees of the garden. It means that the Lord
Fellowshipped with them; Satan entered into the Garden of Eden and scattered
the fellowship; I stand by the authority of God that Satan will not enter into
your house in the name of Jesus Christ…… Satan entered into the heart of Cain,
he caused him to kill his brother; Genesis 4:8…. Now Cain talked with Abel his
brother; and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up
against Abel his brother and killed him. Satan can never give anybody any good
thing; anybody that possesses the spirit of Satan is a wicked person. They do
not think about life; they think about destruction; they do not think about
expansion, they think about limitation; they do not think about joy, they think
about sorrow; whatever is giving you sorrow, will be terminated today, in the
name of Jesus Christ…… King David did not allow Satan to enter his life, but
one day; it entered in 2 Samuel 11:1-5…..
It happened in the spring of the year, at the time when kings go out to
battle, that David sent Joab and his servants with him, and all Israel; and
they destroyed the people of Ammon and besieged Rabbah. But David remained at
Jerusalem. 2 Then it happened one evening that David arose from his
bed and walked on the roof of the king’s house. And from the roof he saw a
woman bathing, and the woman was very beautiful to behold. 3 So
David sent and inquired about the woman. And someone said, “Is this not
Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite?” 4
Then David sent messengers, and took her; and she came to him, and he lay with
her, for she was cleansed from her impurity; and she returned to her house. 5
And the woman conceived; so she sent and told David, and said, “I am with
child. The moment Satan enters into a person’s life, he destroys, and he made
David to sin against his God. Whoever will make you to stumble, the Lord will
separate you from them in the name of Jesus Christ…. Whosoever is determined to
see your end, the Lord will wipe them away in the name of Jesus…. Genesis 1:2….
The earth was without form, and
void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the
Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. In the same
water the darkness was there, but the spirit of God was on top; it takes the
spirit of God to cancel the power of darkness. Every power of darkness, every
satanic power in your life; I cancel it in the name of Jesus Christ….. We fear
because we do not stir the spirit of God in our life; Psalm 27:1-6…. The Lord
is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my
life; of whom shall I be afraid? 2 When the wicked came against me
To eat up my flesh, My enemies and foes, They stumbled and fell. 3
Though an army may encamp against me, My heart shall not fear; Though war may
rise against me, In this I will be confident. 4 One thing I have
desired of the Lord, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the
Lord All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord, And to inquire
in His temple. 5 For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His
pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set
me high upon a rock. 6 And now my head shall be lifted up above my
enemies all around me; therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in His
tabernacle; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord. When your spirit
is established in the Lord, you will never fall, fail, or crumble in the name
of Jesus Christ….. When the Holy Spirit enters into you, you will stand against
the vice of the devil; you will stand against the power of darkness. The
children of Israel were unable to acquire that spirit that is why they
complained every time; they did not appreciate God, but complained against
Moses. Moses had the power of God and made them to understand in Exodus 14:13….
And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand
still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you
today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more
forever. I command every problem, pain, and sorrow to disappear today in the
name of Jesus Christ; you shall see them no more forever; in the name of Jesus
Christ….

oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers; and the Spirit of the Lord

you, God creates changes for you, because He wants you to use that power. If
there is no problem, there is no reason for solution. The power of darkness is
to destroy, but the power of God is to rebuild; is to deliver; God will deliver

Anything of God is
Holy, Holy Spirit is holy. John 9:31…. “Now we know that God does not

him” if you are in sin, you will not see God. When the power of God comes upon
you, Satan departs from you, because he cannot stand against the power of God.
You can only scatter the power of darkness with the power of the Holy Spirit.
Receive Holy Spirit today In the name of Jesus Christ…..
