GOOD NEWS

Isaiah 53:1…..Who has believed our report? And to
whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed……..?

God has given us good
news this morning. For four thousand years, the world was with bad news. The
first sad news took place in the garden of Eden; as the Lord commanded Adam
“thou shall not eat of the fruit of knowledge of good and evil” Genesis
2:15-17……And the Lord  took the man and
put him in the garden to tend and keep it. The Lord commanded “Of all the tree
in the garden …..” Genesis 3:1, 6, &19….The serpent was more cunning than
any beast of the field; he said to the woman “has God indeed said, ‘you shall
not eat of every tree of the garden’?” the devil messed up her heart and she
fell. Verse 6, they ate the forbidden fruit; verse 19, and the Lord cursed them
saying “till you return to the dust, where you were taken; for you are dust and
to dust, you shall return.” The first sad news took place when the man fell and
when the man fell; the devil took the power, the authority, and the position
the Lord gave man. The Lord gave Adam authority over everything; the original
plan of God in Genesis 1:26 & 28….Let us make a man in our image, according
to our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the
birds of the air, and over the cattle, over every creeping thing on the earth.
And God gave him that power; in verse 28….God blessed them, God said “be
fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion…..”  You can see how money has been having
dominion over the people of God, but that was not the original plan of God. The
original plan of God was to have dominion; the devil took over. When the Lord
made everything that He made; Genesis 2:19….The Lord brought everything to Adam
to see what he will call them; and whatever Adam called each creature, that was
its name. The Lord gave him power over everything; but the man fell. It was sad
and terrible. So the first sad news took place in the Garden of Eden. The man
that God created in His own image fell into the hands of Satan.

The second sad news
took place in Genesis 4:7-9…..Cain encouraged Abel to go to the farm land; as
they were plowing in the fields; Cain rose and killed his brother. Abel became
the first to die; the bible made us to understand that his blood was crying to God.
Every innocent blood cries; his blood was crying; it was sad news. The third
sad news happen when God determined to destroy the whole world. The bible said
“God saw the heart of man; that all that is in his heart they are evil
continually.”  The wickedness of people
continued to grow; Genesis 6:6-8….God said “He was sorry he created man”; He
was grieved in His heart. In verse 7 the Lord said “I will destroy everything
that I have created both man and beast…” In verse 8, But Noah found grace
before God; the Lord wiped off the first/Adamic world; only Noah and his family
a total of 8 people were saved. Another sad news took place after Noah had been
delivered from the flooding. He cursed one of his sons named Ham. The curses
took place and it was curses upon curses.

The Lord gave father Terah the power to go the
land of Canaan in Genesis 11: 31-33; he got to Haran; dwelt and died there; he
never got to the Promised Land. The Lord called father Abraham and said “I am
going to bless you; I will make your descendants like the stars of heaven.” God
called him in Genesis 12:1-3…..God said to Abram “get out of your country, from
your family, and from your father’s house, to a land that I will show you……. In
verse 4, he left; verse 7 God said “to you and your descendants I will give
this land to.”   When God said
“descendants” it means you are going to have children. Disappointment took
place in Genesis 16:1-2…When mother Sarah realized that she cannot have babies;
she told her husband; to go the her housemaid; he went to the housemaid, and
that caused pollution, commotion, and destruction till today. Genesis
16:4-5….When the woman conceived, her mistress became despised in her sight,
and problem started. Sarah was grieved, went to her husband saying “tell me my
fault; I gave my maid to your embrace”; but the man said “deal with her in the
way you wish.” Sarah dealt harshly with Hagar; she fled from her presence but
came back later. The angel of the Lord told Hagar that her child will be a wild
man; his hand shall be against every man; and every man’s hand shall be against
him. And Ishmael was born; in Genesis 17:1…..When Abram was 99 years, the Lord
said to him “walk before Me and be blameless,” Abram said to God “oh that
Ishmael might live before you.” God told him his son will come from mother
Sarah. What a disappointment, when God says “I am going to do this”; we use
another means of satisfying God; it was sad news to God, that they did not wait
for their appointed time. Everybody has his own appointed time; I want to say
to you, “your time has come.”  Genesis 17:5-20…The Lord changed Abraham’s
name; He said “you shall no longer be called Abram; but shall be called Abraham
for you shall be a father of many nations…….”

There has been a lot
of sad news in the bible; Genesis 25:28….Isaac love Esau because he ate from
his game, but Rebekah love Jacob. There was commotion and division in the house;
God was not happy. Are we going to talk about all the prophets God sent and how
they all disappointed God. Saul was the first king in Israel and he
disappointed God; 1 Samuel 10:1….Saul received the anointing of God. 1 Samuel
28:7-end…He went to a Necromancer. He started with God but ended it up with the
devil; he was pursuing David from one place to another; and God was watching;
it was a sad news. David remained in Jerusalem while others kings went out to
battle 2 Samuel 11:1-5…..He saw a woman taking her bath; he sent for the woman;
lay with her and killed her husband; he committed adultery and murder it was a
sad news to God.

God appeared to
Solomon, he prayed and fire came down from heaven; 2 Chronicles 7:1-2….After
Solomon had finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt
offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the Lord filled the temple……
unfortunately in 1 kings 11:3-4…..And he have seven hundred wives and three
hundred concubines. The king love strange women, and his wives turned his heart
from God……He disappointed God. Rehoboam his son took over and was worshipping
idol. Ahab, whose wife was Jezebel took over and was ruling the kingdom, it was
a sad news to God.

Prophet Eli- the Lord
appointed and anointed him; he had two sons who perverted the law of God,
inside the church they performed such atrocity as committing adultery in the
sanctuary of God; the Lord killed them. Samson was the most powerful man, the
Lord anointed, and blessed him but a tragedy happened. Judges
16:1&20…Samson went to Gaza, and went in to a harlot; in verse 20, he awoke;
he said “let me deliver myself”; but he did not know the Lord had departed from
him. A powerful man of God was bound with fetters and his eyes were plucked
out. The Lord was looking at his servant; a servant that was arresting people,
now being arrested. Are we going to talk about Jonah, the Lord sent him an
errand, he thought he could escape; he ran away from the presence of God. He
had forgotten Psalm 139:7….Where can I go from your Spirit? Or where can I flee
from your presence? He fled from the presence of God, but the Lord arrested him,
and a shark swallowed him.

Many people
disappointed God; all the kings of Israel failed. A man called Hezekiah in
Isaiah 38:1…The Lord sent Isaiah to him and he said “set your house in order,
for you shall die and not live.” The man cried to God; the Lord sent Isaiah
again to King Hezekiah, and the Lord delivered him from death. Isaiah 38:4-5…I
have heard your cry, and I have added fifteen more years to your life span…..
At the end of the day, he disappointed God Again; the man the Lord expanded his
life and gave long life to; was the one who showed the secret of the house of
God to a stranger.

The Lord delivered
the children of Israel from slavery; when the slave master was advancing toward
the children of Israel; the Lord fought for them. As they were crying, Moses
said to them “do not be afraid.” Exodus 14:13-17…..Moses said to the people “do
not be afraid; stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord which he will
accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians you see today you shall see no
more……” when the children of Israel crossed over, the Egyptian crossed with
them; but they did not crossover. The same children of Israel complained even
because of meat. Numbers 11:4…And the children of Israel wept again and said:
“Who will give us meat?” Moses was on the mountain for forty days, praying for
them, seeking the face of God. Exodus 32…The people asked Aaron to give then
another god that will take us to the promised land; for this Moses we do not
know what has become of him. And Aaron said “bring all your earing and gold”;
he made them a molded calf image, and everybody was bowing down saying “this is
your god, O Israel, that brought you out of land of Egypt” They were dancing,
God looked unto them- what a great disappointment. The worst part of it is what
ended the Old Testament was curse.

Malachi 4:6…Lest I
come strike the earth with a curse…. For five hundred years there was no record
anymore, the earth was carrying curses. Thank God, somebody came to give us
good news; and this man left his kingdom. He was man, He was God and He is God.
In the beginning was the word; and the word was with God; and the word was God.
He was in the beginning with God, and through Him all things were made John
1:1-5….And without Him nothing was made. He was life; and the life was the
light of men……. Satan was ruling over the world, but somebody left His throne,
His kingdom, His dominion, His power, He left everything just because of us.
Isaiah 6:8-9….Whom shall I send and who shall go for us; and Isaiah said Here I
am send me…. Isaiah went but he could not do it; Isaiah was talking about the
coming of Messiah. Isaiah 7:14….Behold the Lord will give you a sign; a virgin
shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. Isaiah was
telling us that he was not the one to rescue us, to give us good news, joy, to
deliver us. In Isaiah 9:6….Unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given and
the government will he upon His shoulder; and He shall be called wonderful,
counselor, mighty God, everlasting father, the prince of peace.

Jesus has become our
peace. Ephesian 2:14….He himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has
broken down the middle wall of separation. Sin separated us from God, but
somebody bridged the gap. People have been crying somebody came to wipe away
our sorrow; He came to wipe away our tears; He came to give us joy. We have
been hearing bad news; but somebody has taken that bad news out of your life
and on the cross of Calvary John 19:30….after he has taken the sour wine, He
said, “It is finished!” Your sad
news is finished today; your time of weeping is finished; it is finished means,
it is ended. All your frustrations are ended; your intimidation is ended; your
suffering is ended; your trouble is ended; your oppression is ended; sickness
is ended; in your family untimely death is ended; because he died young; so
that you can live long. He came to set us free and He said you are not going to
hear sad news anymore. The dominion of Satan is over before, nobody has the
power to challenge the devil; but we have that power now and we can say to you,
“every witchcraft power you are terminated.” Witches have no power over us,
familiar spirit have no power over us; when they shoot their arrow it shall return
back to them because whoever digs a pit, shall fall into it. By His strips we
are healed- which means no more sickness, no more infirmity, because there is
good news. Jesus came to this world and it is a good news.

You have been crying,
weeping, demoralized, disturbed and distracted; but Jesus says “it is over” Jesus said “what can stop
all these is to shed my blood; is to give my life.” John 15:13….Greater love has
no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. And that is what
He did. Hebrews 9:22….Without the shedding of the blood there is no remission. But
somebody shed the blood and he was beaten; because of us He rendered Himself to
death. Philippians 2:8-11…Being found in appearance as a man; He humbled
Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross;
therefore……………. I want to say “who are you O great mountain before the children
of God; at the name of Jesus, every knee shall bow.” Sickness that is troubling
you, at the name of Jesus it shall bow; the gathering of your enemies is
scattered this hour; in the name of Jesus they shall bow.
