PROMISE
PROMISE
1 Kings 18:41….Then Elijah said to
Ahab, “Go up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of abundance of rain.” …….
Ahab, “Go up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of abundance of rain.” …….
Elijah was
the prophet of God and Ahab was the king of Israel; three and half years there
was no rain, because Elijah seized the course of rain. Our God is a jealous God
Exodus 20:5 …..You shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I,
the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the
iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations
of those who hate Me. In the time of Ahab, it was believed that the god of Baal
was the one that brings rain from heaven. They were contending with it; Elijah
said “we will see if it is Baal or God that brings rain.” 1 Kings 17:1…. And
Elijah the Tishbite, of the inhabitants of Gilead, said to Ahab, “As the Lord
God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these
years, except at my word.” When God gives you power, He wants you to exercise
that power to His own glory. Elijah had the power of God; he did not use that
power to glorify himself. He exercised the power to demonstrate the glory of
God; and the glory was unto the Lord in the time of Elijah; and the glory will
be unto God in our own time in the name of Jesus Christ….

the children of Israel, and gathered the prophets together on Mount Carmel. 21
And Elijah came to all the people, and said, “How
long will you falter between two opinions? If the Lord is
God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him.” But the people answered him not a
word. The message of today is titled “getting the unfailing promise” Every promise will fail, but the promise of God can
never fail. We have received promises from so many people but all those
promises have failed and let us down. God’s promise can never fail; God said
“He will never break His covenant.” Psalm 89:34-35…..My
covenant I will not break, Nor alter the word that has gone out of My lips. 35
Once I have sworn by My holiness; I will not lie to David. God is not a liar and can never lie; all His promises
will be fulfilled in the name of Jesus Christ…… God wants us to do something
this morning and the moment we do it, you will see how we are going to get the
promise of the Lord that can never fail. Praise the name of the Lord
everybody…..

this morning and the moment we do it, you will see how we are going to get the
promise of the Lord that can never fail. Praise the name of the Lord
everybody…..

made them prepare two bulls one for him and the other for the prophets of Baal.
In verse 24 Elijah said “Then you call on the name of your gods, and I will
call on the name of the Lord; and the God who answers by fire, He is God.” So the
prophet of Baal took the bull which was given them, and they prepared it, and
called on the name of Baal from morning even till noon, saying, “O Baal, hear
us!” But there was no voice; no one answered, and there was no fire. Elijah mocked
them and said, “Cry aloud, for he is a god; either he is meditating, or he is
busy, or he is on a journey, or perhaps he is sleeping and must be awakened.” I thank God because the God that we serve neither
sleeps nor slumbers. Psalm 121:3-4…He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who
keeps you will not slumber. 4 Behold, He who keeps Israel Shall
neither slumber nor sleep. Praise the name of the Lord; your God does not
sleep; He is awake; the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is alive; He is the living
God; Omnipresent God; as He is here, He is everywhere. To whom shall you liken God,
and to whom shall you compare with Him; my God is great; He is wonderful; He is
glorious. God is our fortress and refuge a very present in trouble; He sees,
and knows your situation and He has solution to every problem; He is the
Omniscience God.

Whoever assembles against you shall fall for your sake. This God is too much He

Him. Greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world; the one that
is in you, is a consuming fire. Fire came down because the Lord answered. In verse
39.… Now
when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces; and they said, “The
Lord, He is God! The Lord, He is God!” You have to reach to a certain level, you call
the name of your God to prove to your adversaries that Yes you are serving a
living God. That was what Elijah did; Then Elijah said to Ahab, “Go up, eat and
drink; for there is the sound of abundance of rain.” Ahab looked up but nothing
showed that it was going to rain. At times we hear the promise of the Lord, and
we say “I do not see any sign that it is going to happen.” You do not need any
sign you just need a word. The centurion said “Lord, I am not worthy that thou
should come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be
healed.” Today everybody needs a word that will catapult him/her to the next
level; a word that will bless you; a word that will change your life; a word
that will give you peace, joy, and destabilized all your enemies. Receive that
word today in the name of Jesus Christ…… Praise the Lord.

2 Kings
2:1-9…. And
it came to pass, when the Lord was about to take up Elijah into heaven by a
whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal. 2 Then Elijah said to Elisha, “Stay here,
please, for the Lord has sent me on to Bethel.” But Elisha said, “As the Lord
lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you!” So they went down to Bethel…… Elisha got double portion
of blessing from Elijah. Today I want to pray for double portion of His blessing
upon every soul in the name of Jesus Christ…. Elijah said to Ahab, “Go up, eat and drink.” What
I am saying to everybody today is to stop worrying; have confidence in God. 1 John 5:14……Now this is the
confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will,
He hears us. Have confidence in God; man can
fail you, but God can never fail you. If you ask anything according to His
will, He hears us. Some people had slight headache and they died, some people
slept and never woke up; but you have been sleeping and waking up. You had
headache and fever, but you are well right now because His grace is all over
you. You do not know that you are precious in the sight of God. I will not
condemn anyone because God has not condemned us; Romans 8:1…. There is therefore
now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according
to the Spirit. Unless you are not in Christ; because God did not condemn us, we
cannot condemn anybody. Matthew 7:1…. “Judge not, that you be not judged. Do not judge; because
God is taking you to another level; all your accusers will perish in the name
of Jesus Christ. Every spirit of Jezebel that has been holding you back I terminate
it in the name of Jesus Christ….. I destroy and cancel the spirit of Jezebel in
the name of Jesus Christ….

this meeting eat and drink; the few days remaining this year, God can still do
it. Do you know that one day is even too long for God? When Gideon defeated the
Midianites, God told him to use three hundred men to destroy one million. Psalm
118:10….. All
nations surrounded me, But in the name of the Lord I will destroy them. Everyone
that is weary, tired and with heavy heart this morning “go up eat and drink for
there is a sound of abundance of rain.” Everyone who has faith in God must
trust in the word of God, because by His words the earth was framed; the heavens
was established; and by His word you were created. God did not create you to suffer;
He created you to carry His glory. If you are in poverty, sick, or deceased you
cannot carry His glory; that is why He has to heal you; deliver you; proper and
bless you, so that you can be able to carry His glory. You will carry the glory
of the Lord this year in the name of Jesus….. I see lives changing right now, I
see situations receiving deliverance; I see divine turnaround in people’s lives;
I see shackles been cutoff and chains been broken in pieces; receive it in the
name of Jesus… Receive the blessing of God; receive the power of God in the
name of Jesus….. Am seeing your prayer been fulfilled; am seeing your heart
desire been granted; am seeing the request of your heart been sanctioned by
God; so therefore receive the blessing of God this morning in the name of Jesus
Christ…..Praise the Lord.

promises of God; there shall be showers of blessings. 1 kings 18:45….Now
it happened in the meantime that the sky became black with clouds and wind, and
there was a heavy rain. So Ahab rode away and went to
Jezreel. Let me say this to you, the promise did not just come from the man who
prophesied it. The promise was revealed to Elijah and the promise was
pronounced by Elijah, and it came to fulfillment because the idol that was
contending with God, and the idol worshipers that were standing against God
had been destroyed. The bible made us understand in 1 kings 18: 40…..And Elijah
said to them, “Seize the prophets of Baal! Do not let one of them
escape!” So they seized them; and Elijah
brought them down to the Brook Kishon and executed them there. The 450 prophets
of Baal were executed at river Kishon; after all those people have been
removed, then the blessing of the Lord comes up. Psalm 24:3-6…. Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may
stand in His holy place? 4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, Nor sworn deceitfully. 5 He shall receive blessing from the Lord,
And righteousness from the God of his salvation. 6 This is
Jacob, the generation of those who seek Him, Who seek Your face. There is
something in your heart that you have to release this morning, so that the
blessing of God can come. Anything that we have raised above our God is our
idol; your gold or money can be your idol. Until you remove that idol; Elijah
removed, destroyed and wiped them out; then the glory of God was revealed.

tear down the altar of Baal that your father has, and cut down the wooden image
that is beside it. Meaning I want to use you, I want to reveal my glory in your
life, but while I am standing there should be no other god to stand; go and cut
down the altar of Baal. Every altar that we have erected in our hearts; every
altar that our parents erected for us; every altar that is contending with the
glory of God that does not allow the glory of God to be revealed in us; every
altar that is standing against our blessing; every altar that has barricaded our
lives from understanding the truth; every altar that has cut us off; every
altar that has stopped us from serving the Lord Jesus Christ, today I command
it to be consumed in the name of Jesus Christ…..

but what we do not see which is invisible, which is eternal; it is the power of
the Lord. Judges 6:27; 29-31…. So

men of the city too much to do it by day, he did it by night. 29 So they said to one another,
“Who has done this thing?” And when they had inquired and asked, they said,

when people arose early in the morning, there were the corpses—all dead. It is God
that fights for us we do not fight for God. He will fight for you. Is there
anything that you are still holding onto, drop it this hour at the feet of our
Lord Jesus Christ because there is a sound of abundance of rain.
